Welcome to Rail 101
The intention of this course is to provide new starters with some business acumen and understanding of the KiwiRail environment. It will explore the different business units and will assist with understanding some of the language that is used in the Operational teams.The course covers:
- Overview of Codes and Standards
- Legislation and Regulations and how they affect KiwiRail
- Professional Heads of Engineering
- Protection
- Signals
- Track Geometry
- Infrastructure Maintenance
- Traction
- Freight Logistics and Yards
